The CUBE immersive environment Chalmers Medialab (today CKK) at Chalmers university of technology is researching in the fields of human-computer interaction and digital environments. To their help, they have the immersive environment, the CUBE - a 3x3x3 m box with five projectors displaying oscillating images on all the sides of the box, except the ceiling. With the aid of synchronized glasses and a tracking device, a person who steps into the box can look around and get the sensation of being right in the center of an environment that only exists in computers. Robert Karlsson, from i2 STUDIOS, spent two summers working with various projects with Chalmers Medialab. Needless to say this was an inspiration for future work of i2 STUDIOS. These images came to be during those very exciting summer days. See Also: Similar graphics available |
